Genuine Georgia Artisan Marketplace, nestled in the heart of historic downtown Greensboro, proudly commemorates its 20th anniversary during Southland Jubilee on April 19th! Since its inception in 2003 by the Greensboro’s Downtown Development Authority and purchased by Cynthia Smith in 2005, the store has been a beacon for talented artisans offering original gifts, home décor, and unique art handcrafted exclusively by over 100 Georgia artists.
Over the past two decades, Genuine Georgia has curated a diverse collection that embodies the state’s rich cultural heritage. From intricate pottery, stunning woodworking, and woven textiles to fine art and folk pieces, the marketplace has provided a platform for artists to share their creativity and craftsmanship.
“Celebrating 20 years is a testament to the incredible talent of Georgia’s artisans and the unwavering support of our customers,” remarks Cynthia Smith, owner of Genuine Georgia. “We always believe that when you buy from an independent artist, you’re not just purchasing a piece of art, you’re investing in a piece of their heart and soul!”
Located at 102 South Main Street, Genuine Georgia invites longtime supporters and new visitors to join in the celebration and experience the vibrant artistry that has defined this marketplace for two decades!
